HotelREZ secures the services of Daniel Simmons, as he takes the position of Director of Business Development on a consultancy basis.

With over 10 year’s experience in the hotel industry, former Operations Director with Distinguished Hotels International, Daniel Simmons, has taken the new position of Director of Business Development with HotelREZ.

Speaking about his appointment, Daniel said, ‘HotelREZ offers its members the highest level of professionalism and expertise, setting standards throughout the industry with its quality, service and attention to detail. I wanted to be a part of a company whose underlying principles provided clear benefits to hoteliers, such as increasing hotel exposure, reducing the cost of distribution and ultimately increasing room revenue. Spanning ten years, Daniel’s career in the hotel industry began with Hilton International, from which he progressed to Sales & Marketing Manager with the Karena Group. Following this, Daniel focused on Revenue & Yield Management for The Britannia Group and then moved to Grand Heritage in 1996 as Revenue Manager.

At Distinguished Hotels International (formerly Grand Heritage Hotels), Daniel’s role as Operations Director entailed overseeing the revenue for 120 hotels around the world. This involved generating revenue for hotels through distribution marketing, yield management and utilisation of electronic distribution channels together with targeted sales and marketing activity.

Commenting on Daniel joining HotelREZ, Managing Director, Mark Lewis stated, ‘We’re delighted that Daniel has agreed to join HotelREZ. His expertise in the industry is evident, Daniel joins a world class team and will successfully transfer his knowledge into practical propositions for our customers, helping us to continue to give them the edge over the competition.

Mark continues, ‘One of his key roles with HotelREZ will be to increase our hotel members revenue and business by developing further our agent relationships, our preferred status, and give specific attention to the conference and meetings sector, increasing the number of assisted sales calls, and enhancing our exhibitions programme. There are also a number of other projects we have in the pipeline, which Daniel will work upon. We’re confident that Daniel will deliver on all his objectives and to this end, have secured his services to start immediately.’
